AP Biology Labs
This lab is a kinesthetic activity that allows students to be creative in building their own models of cell membranes. Supply a variety of materials: assorted pasta (a wide variety of shapes: rotini, fusilli, spaghetti, linguini, wheels, big shells, penne, rigatoni, etc.), assorted cereals (Kix & Cheerios work great as phospholipid heads), Elmer's glue, pipe cleaners, yarn, and cardboard (or a manila folder) to build on. You will find they will refer to these 3-D diagrams throughout the unit.
